Himalayas
Ive just finished reading the below article. I dont know how many of you have seen the mighty Himalayas and felt like falling flat on the ground. You almost feel that you are just a speck of dust, highest risings looking down from the unreachable sky. It was in 9th standard that ive visited Nepal, seen the highest ranges in the world and also the highest peak -Mt Everest. We started in a bus from Varanasi in the night to Kathmandu - Nepal's capital, from the low plains of Ganges in Uttarpradesh just to realize in the morning that we have surpassed the clouds in our ascent. I opened the window curtains expecting something little higher than the Srisailam or Tirupathi hills( these were the only hilly regions ive visited before, i had no clue what mountains looked like and definitely not the Himalayas ) you see these gigantic elevations almost touching the sky ! And oh yeah , the Mount Everest visible even from 180 kms away, its like able to see Srisailam temple from Hyderabad and imagine the height of the mountain, mind blowing! Just to view it partially you have to lie on the ground. The viewing spot we went to was 30 km away from Kathmandu and we started around 3 AM in the morning .It is called the sunrise spot. You reach there when it is completely dark and wait for the sunrise. Around 5:50 AM , out of no where we see the peaks of the mountains turning golden orange thats when the sun rays have hit the peaks. The first peak that turns gold is the mighty Mt Everest .It is like the sun rays are pointing towards it and saying "This is the Top of The World!"...
I wish I had the pics with me right now. We might visit many nations, all the wonders of the world and all the damn great things that are out there but if we dint get the glimpse of what Himalayas are then we really missing on something !
